Coming Down to the Wire!

Hello readers!

i\’m closing in on completing the first full draft of Shay lark and the silver skull! i\’ll be sending it off to an editor soon, so it\’s getting really real. 🙂

Let me just say it\’s been quite an adventure, having started way back in November 2022 with the naWriMo challenge. (if you don\’t know what that is, check out the website)

i actually had the idea for the shay lark character way back in january 2019, but it took me a while to really hone in on what i wanted to do with her. i think this book really sets her up to be a strong, confident teenage girl, and hopefully as a role model for those that can relate to her and her story.

anyway, i\’ll get back to writing, as i\’m down to the last couple chapters. i\’m ecstatic that i will soon get to share with y\’all everything about shay lark, teen adventurer!

The Trilogy Titles Released!

I have released all the names for the shay lark: teenage adventurer series!

the first Volume is Shay Lark and the Silver Skull. the second volume is shay lark and the lost treasure of blackbeard. and the trilogy wraps up with shay lark and the sisterhood of michael.

right now, i\’m sitting at about 2/3 of the first book completed and ready to be edited. i\’m hoping to finish up my first draft before the ides of march to pass along to the editor. from there, i\’ll work on updates and changes recommended and pursue a date for publishing. so, it\’s getting real now!

Shay Lark and the Silver Skull Book Update – February 2023

It\’s coming! I promise!

I have been busting it to get the book out, and i\’ve made it about 2/3s of the way completed. From there, it\’ll go to an editor to review, and then, publishing!

i\’ve been looking at publishing avenues, and i\’m going to go through the self-publishing route for now. i\’ll put the link to the finished book when the time comes.

but, shay and her friends (Cassie and emma) will soon be coming out for you to enjoy!

Locations in Shay Lark and the Silver Skull

I thought it would be good to let you all see some of the places that will be highlighted in our story. These are some really cool places, making this a really cool story to read and enjoy. Let\’s dive right in to some of my faves!

 

  • Austin, Texas
    • The Larks are professors within the Anthropology department
    • They do most of the work in the basement of the Texas Memorial Museum on campus
  • Guanajuato, Mexico
  • Puebla, Mexico

Those are a few! Check \’em out, as they provided a great backdrop to the story being told.
