Jack Reynolds

YA fantasy author writing stories of danger, loyalty, and worlds on the edge of change. I write young adult fantasy with high stakes, layered characters, and series-sized adventure.

Right now, I’m deep in the world of the Shay Lark series — where ancient myths, buried secrets, and one very determined sixteen-year-old collide.

Current Project: The Shay Lark Series

When sixteen-year-old Shay Lark’s family trip to Mexico turns into a race against dark forces hunting an ancient Mayan relic, she discovers the ring passed down through generations of women in her family is more than an heirloom—it’s her inheritance as a guardian. The Shay Lark series blends archaeological adventure, Mesoamerican mythology, and the pressures of growing up into a fast-paced YA journey that spans continents, centuries, and the supernatural.

Excerpt

The door to Room 203 flew open with a bang.

“Dad! Dad!” Shay Lark’s voice echoed through the lecture hall, her icy blue eyes wild with excitement. She burst in from the back door, backpack flailing off her shoulder, a tattered book clutched against her chest. “You won’t believe what I found!”

She made it three steps before the silence hit her.

Dozens of faces stared back at the teen.
